Have you managed to read the mailbox using webmail? If so you use exactly the same username and password as you use on there.
The next thing to try is disabling virus and firewall protection as it's not unusual for them to cause problems.
If you've done all that you need to try a different client. For testing I'd suggest this utility: http://mmm3.sourceforge.net/

Sorry for the delay, but I fanally have good news. Have had problems getting rid of mcafee, finally having to retore my PC back to factory settings.
Have reinstalled Outlook and Norton Internet explorer. As soon as I set up outlook Outlook again my problems disappeared and all my expectrd emails
flooded into my inbox. I believe my problem was with settings in Mcafee, firewall or anti virus, as was suggested in Jelv's last reply.
