Is there a problem with the server - error smtp server timing out - FIXED

As per the title
Edit - it only seems to be one mailbox which is affected
Task <snip> - Sending' reported error (0x8004210B) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

I think I have sorted it - I restarted Outlook and it fixed it - I have no idea why

I'm having the same issue.
I've restarted my mail program (Thunderbird) but to no avail.
This is the message I get:
