Is relay.plus.net ok?

Hi, I've been sending emails by smtp via relay.plus.net this afternoon, exactly as I've done for months/years and they seemed to send OK, but I've just found out that they haven't been reaching their destinations.
I haven't made any changes to my email software for months and everything else seems OK - is the relay 'stuck' at the moment? - it's accepting emails without error but they're not arriving.
Anyone else seeing the same?

I've just sent a message via relay.plus.net (avasout03.plus.net). It arrived instantly, no problems whatsoever.

Thanks!
I'm sending my outbound Yahoo emails via the relay - I'll try again just now!

Hmmm still happening here - I've changed nothing in the settings and the same emails sent through smtp.googlemail.com using the same software are going fine (again with no change in settings)

Yeah, a yahoo address, on an authenticated relay, that's always been fine in the past, unless something's changed since lunchtime today?

Thanks - very strange - I'm using Evolution 3.12.11 - I really haven't changed anything here - I closed Evolution and reopened it when I was investigating, but that didn't help
Must be something here.
I'll try rebooting the box and check update logs for updated libraries etc
Thanks Bob and David - very much appreciated!

You mentioned you were using SMTP authentication, are you sending from a non-Plusnet connection? The command line test done by Bob used no authentication on a Plusnet connection.
You could try typing in equivalent telnet commands yourself (substituting your own email addresses) if you are on a Plusnet connection.

Same again but using gmail as the from address wasn't received ( 250 iKKY1s00B4pEnP001KKxoZ mail accepted for delivery )
Same again but using plusnet as the from address wast received ( 250 iKKY1s00B4pEnP001KNzuV mail accepted for delivery )
Obviously I've changed the IP a bit and the email addresses - but it does seem to be accepting the emails and then they're not being delivered

Sending it to my Plusnet email address *does* work, it's immediately received.
Edit: but only when telnetting into the relay server, sending it using the Evolution mail client didn't arrive!?
Edit2: it did arrive after about 5 minutes

This is just speculation but I wonder if you are being affected by the same problem that is blocking (or delaying) verification emails sent to migrated Community users when non-Plusnet addresses are used?

FWIW, I sent to a non-Plusnet hosted mailbox when conducting the test in my previous post. @between1and16ch, where are you sending to? Is it only a certain destination that's failing? If so, do you know where that mailbox is hosted?

It's failed when sending to @gmail.com and to @yahoo.co.uk
It worked when it's sent to postmaster@<myPlusnetUsername>.plus.com
The source address doesn't seem to make a difference.
I'm on a static IP but I have no issues when using smtp.googlemail.com
I'll try sending to a Janet address just now - but the Exchange server there is pretty slow at times

Well that I didn't expect.
The test email to the Janet address did arrive - but emails to yahoo and google addresses aren't
