Ipad email problem

Hi all, For over 2 years I've happily received and sent emails from my ipad. Suddenly, for the past 6 days, I have been unable to receive and send. It's a problem. All the account details in Mail appear to still be the same.  Any ideas welcome please!

First thing to try is a full reboot. Hold the Home button and press the Power button and hold until the Apple logo appears. Let go both buttons and wait for the reboot to complete.

The email accounts themselves look fine to me. Exactly what happens when you try sending/receiving?
Worth noting that you have a number of different mailboxes and the usernames/passwords for each are different.
I'd suggest that you try logging into the account in question using Webmail. This will ensure that you're using the correct username/password for the mailbox in question.
Assuming you are, you could try removing the account from the iPad and set it up again.

Thanks Bob. I've done all that, with a Plusnet person over the phone too.  It's been escalated to higher help now!

Where are you connecting from?

Your Internet connection is dropping out quite frequently. Whilst this shouldn't result in a complete inability to send/receive, it would cause intermittent problems.
It would still help to know what happens when you try sending or receiving?

I have a similar problem. On the iPad air 2. I receive emails on my iPhone 4s with no problem but constantly receive Cannot get mail.  Your user name or password is incorrect. Having removed the account and added a new account. The problem still remains.

Can you log into Webmail with the details you've configured the iPad to use?
Are you using POP3 or IMAP?
Are there any options when configuring the iPad to use SSL/TLS or similar?
Our mail platform does not support SSL/TLS at present so any such options would need to be disabled. If using POP3, make sure you're using port 110. If using IMAP, make sure it's 143.
Are you able to send email?
