Incoming email from BT

I'm running my own SMTP server and I see that all incoming email is now coming through servers like hubrelay-by-03.bt.com
When did this change happen?
I noticed this because we got this email :
Quote
One of your emails has been blocked
We’re writing to let you know that an email sent either by you, or to you, has been blocked. The email contained either content that appeared to be a computer virus, or it had a potentially dangerous file attachment.
There’s no need to do anything unless you believe the email was legitimate. This relates to your personal email and is specifically for your attention. Please do not forward to other users.
What was the email?
The email details were  :
Date/Time:      30 Aug 2013 06:10:39
From:      iva_cowan@yahoo.com
Subject:      USPS Delivery service report 1QGIK216MS
Blocked file or Virus Name :   NTF1QGIK216MS.zip\PA243430434.exe
Still need the email?
If you have a legitimate business requirement for this email, the attachment will need to be re-sent as a password protected zip file, full instructions on which can be found here.

and when I went digging in the logs to check (as the email address it was sent to wasn't quite right so I wondered if this was actually spam) I noticed that things had changed.

Re: Incoming email from BT

Are you talking about email sent by us? If so then we changed the MX records for the plus.net domain back on the 9th August.

Re: Incoming email from BT

Here's the headers from an email from earlier:
[tt]
Received: from hubrelay-by-04.bt.com (hubrelay-by-04.bt.com [62.7.242.140])
(using TLSv1 with cipher AES128-SHA (128/128 bits))
(No client certificate requested)
by mydomain (Postfix) with ESMTPS id DABDD17DE001
for <myuser@mypnaccount.plus.com>; Wed,  4 Sep 2013 05:07:37 +0100 (BST)
Received: from avasout05.plus.net (84.93.230.250) by hubrelay-by-04.bt.com
(172.16.120.192) with Microsoft SMTP Server (TLS) id 8.3.297.1; Wed, 4 Sep
2013 05:07:34 +0100
Received: from mail.just-the-name.co.uk ([213.162.97.161]) by avasout05 with
smtp id Ls7b1m0033UurnZ01s7cPp; Wed, 04 Sep 2013 05:07:37 +0100[/tt]
So what seems to be happening is that avasout is pushing email out to BT which is then sending it directly to my server.  This is when email is being sent to my domain (hosted by JTN) which uses JTN's forwarding to send it to my Plusnet account.
Its not a problem if this is going to be permanent I just need to go and update Spamcop so its route tracing works.

Re: Incoming email from BT

If it's email sent by us/from our systems then yes it's being relayed via BT's servers now and will continue to be so. Email sent via the customer facing servers should be routing as normal though. Just realised that my earlier statement about our MX records is irrelevant based on the question you've asked so sorry about that! Roll_eyes

Re: Incoming email from BT

OK thanks.
Got Spamcop all sorted out so anything that does get through I can report on without it throwing wobblies.

Re: Incoming email from BT

The BT servers seem to have dropped out of the incoming route... how very odd

Re: Incoming email from BT

There was a problem that I was unaware of when replying to your earlier posts (ref: 76794). Apparently some customer emails were being unintentionally routed via BT's relays. This was fixed on the morning of the 13th.
