Re: IMAP connection pop-up in Outlook 2016.

"it is more likely that users hit a different instance of the mail and or storage server for a subsequent connection attempt."

Sorry, don't understand what you are saying - clearly something was 'wrong' in that there were two different error messages popping up, which should not happen if everything was ok at the Plus end.

Are you saying that some part ('instance') of the server could still be faulty, and we could meet up with the same problem again?

Thanks

Re: IMAP connection pop-up in Outlook 2016.

I was suggesting that at the time you thought this was fixed, it was more likely that the user simply hit a different instance of the service not impacted by clock skew.  If it had been fixed at that time, users would not be experience sometimes it works and the next moment it does not.

Hi

>>If it had been fixed at that time, users would not be experience sometimes it works and the next moment it does not.<<

In my case at least the error message was happening consistently for at least 2 days, to the point of interrupting general Outlook UI usage. And there were two error messages repeating frequently, one citing 'Skew', one not (just talking about 'Closing the Connection').

Given the fault has now stopped, with no changes this end, that does seem to suggest a fault at the Plus end which has been rectified without us being privy to the solution - unless you think that one server had the fault, and that at some point some of us might be inadvertantly connected to it again. Hopefully not.
