How do you delete "Deleted Items" in the Webmail Folder?

I'm trying to empty my Deleted Items folder in Webmail.

I get the alert message "Do you really want to delete all messages in this folder?"

When I click OK the little gear wheel goes round for a while, but nothing happens.

I can still see my deleted emails?

What am I doing wrong?

At log in choose the basic webmail option; does it work then?

How many messages does the Deleted Items folder contain? Have you tried emptying it at an off-peak time?

Emptying that folder of around 20 messges takes only a couple of seconds for me.

Sorry to hear you are experiencing problems with webmail. We have run a test on your mail box and can see your deleted items are now empty. It may have been a delayed action due to the servers running slow.

I have refreshed your mail box which should improve this. Let us know if you need any further assistance.

Gel, thanks for that advice.

You may have seen my response to SammyM by now, who fixed it for me.

I've ventured into Basic Webmail a couple of times, but did not feel comfortable because of its "rustic" look 🙂

I'll try it again soon and I'm sure I'll get used to it the more I use it.

I only want to do basic things so it will most likely meet my needs.

Anyway, thanks for that tip on deleting items, I'll make a note of that in case there is a next time!

David, it looks like SammyM has fixed it for me.

I guess I was trying to delete about 20 - 30 emails at a time.

I'll remember the tip about emptying at off-peak time.  Thanks.
