How do i move files from my folders to my computer

Hi  I have important files in my folders and I feel uneasy that I am leaving their care in the hands of PN

Is there a way of transferring the emails In my folders to a Word type programme or my Documents Folder

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am not very clued up to the technical aspects of Webmail

You could use an e mail programme, such as THUNDERBIRD, and set up as a POP3 or IMAP connection; google to understand the differences.
POP3 would d/load everything to your Thunderbird programme, on your PC.
