How do I empty my `Deleted Items' Folder?

In an effort to comply with PN's threat to archive the excess emails cluttering up their server I have deleted hundreds of messages from various folders.

These all end up in the `Deleted items' folder, but when I block in a batch of these and click for them to themselves be deleted  they just go round in a circle and re-appear.

I don't feel happy describing them as `Junk' as future messages from legitimate sources might be blocked as spam.

Can anyone give me advice please............thanks.

Have you tried a right click on the deleted items folder and then click empty on the drop down menu?

Bingo, thank you so much agedgopher.  That technique worked a treat.  I wish I'd known it before laboriously deleting items in other folders.
