Re: From address doesn't meet the authentication requirements defined for the sender

@Tim-J It is not 'PN's attitude', it is a BTCG decision.

Plusnet is now merely a BTCG 'brand' - nothing else.

Re: From address doesn't meet the authentication requirements defined for the sender

I'm not really sure what your point is here.

I have never agreed to a new contract and even if I had it would be irrelevant.

23 years ago I was using email as were just about every business and private individual so again I really don't understand what your point is. It was most certainly was a central plank of communication - or did you think email was just a gimmick in 2002.

My point is very clear - I have been paying PN for the complete service including email and as far as I am aware nothing has changed - or at least nothing saying email is no longer part of my package has been communicated to me at all.

I am only aware of the Greenby migration through this forum - I have had no official communication.

Re: From address doesn't meet the authentication requirements defined for the sender

@PhilipHeyes re #637

If you are keeping a record of the blocked servers, I've received a rejection from talktalk of an email routed via avasout-peh-002 (212.159.14.18). I tried again half an hour later in the hope of a different server being used but no luck.

Pathetic doesn't begin to describe it!

Re: From address doesn't meet the authentication requirements defined for the sender

I've got a little list . . .

SMTP servers that have been unable to send an email to a single destination of an ISP :

avasout-peh-002 [212.159.14.18] blocked by Talk Talk
avasout-peh-003 [212.159.14.19] blocked by Talk Talk
avasout-ptp-003 [84.93.230.244]  blocked by Talk Talk and
avasout-ptp-003 [84.93.230.244]  also blocked by Tiscali

avasout-peh-001 [212.159.14.17] blocked by Microsoft
avasout-peh-004 [212.159.14.20] blocked by Microsoft
avasout-ptp-003 [84.93.230.244] blocked by Microsoft

avasout-peh-002 [212.159.14.18] rejected by iCloud

SMTP servers that have been unable to send an email
to one or more Microsoft destinations where the email has multiple recipients :

avasout-ptp-004 [84.93.230.250]    Dkim= Fail
avasout-peh-004 [212.159.14.20]    Dkim= Fail
avasout-ptp-002 [84.93.230.235] Dkim= Fail
avasout-peh-001 [212.159.14.17]    Dkim= Fail
avasout-ptp-003 [84.93.230.244]    Dkim= Fail
avasout-peh-002 [212.159.14.18]    Dkim= Fail
avasout-peh-003 [212.159.14.19]    Dkim= Fail

One off delivery failure to Microsoft as part of a multi destination email:

avasout-ptp-002 [84.93.230.235] Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 500 5.3.3 Unrecognized command 'Length: 6'

He's got 'em on the list — he's got 'em on the list;

And they'll none of 'em be missed — they'll none of 'em be missed

Re: From address doesn't meet the authentication requirements defined for the sender

“And all the Plusnet servers on a Microsoft block list
The poor downtrodden user who can only shake a fist
While the wretched PR people need a slap upon the wrist
It’s an absolute disaster and I really do insist
They never would be missed”

Don’t get me started!

Re: From address doesn't meet the authentication requirements defined for the sender

Just to add to the continuing problems...

I have just sent an e-mail to 10 recipients, one was to an iCloud account and the other to a Hotmail account. Both of these bounced back. This is so inconvenient when contacting a business group of people.

What's the latest official Plusnet position in terms of engagement with Microsoft and Apple please?

I should of said above that the iCloud bounce back stated:

Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 554 5.7.1 [BS01] Message rejected due to local policy. Please visit https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204137

Re: From address doesn't meet the authentication requirements defined for the sender

On the first line of my iCloud rejection messages it lists the sending Plusnet SMTP server that is being rejected,
it reads as follows in our last email ...

Reporting-MTA: dns; avasout-ptp-002 [84.93.230.235]

In your case, do you see which server is being rejected by iCloud ?

Nothing like that in either bounce e-mail attachments.
