Emails showing as READ when they arrive on webmail

Enjoy the sun - non here on the Scottish west coast 😞

An update, for when and if you return, the passwords reset appears to ahve worked - I guess they may have been a still connected PC somewhere, having passed many onto children etc that coudl well be it - have yet to check the phone setup though.

Will post back for others in case they have this rare oddity.

BTW - new account worked as expected but I didn't pass it through the domain forwarding, just Outlook direct to PlusNet IMAP.

Hi Townman,

Okay, closing off this thread as more testing and a phone setup proved it's working as expected now, leaving emails read upon arrival.

So it sounds like there was a mail client still accessing it somwehere - worrying but I guess it can happen - at least changing the password stops that!

For other users with this problem, I think I have now foudn the culprit, Spamdrain was filtering the emails, forgot about that!

I received and email saying it coudln't connect - since the password change!

Now need to look at thier control panel to see how to leave them as read - assuming I am correct.
