Email server error again!

  "Socket Error: 10060, Port: 110, Protocol: POP.A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond."

Could someone pick it up please?

Same here. This error seems to occur too regularly with PlusNet in the last six months. A friend in the US said his posts to me this morning bounced back with a failed delivery notice.  I tried Webmail to see if my Outlook mail would be unblocked but no joy.

My email was working fine this morning. Closed my laptop, went out and when back this afternoon it won't download emails. PlusNet say it's not them but Office 365 support say my password has changed while I was out. I've reset my password but outlook still won't work...Any ideas?

Try changing your incoming server address to 212.159.8.82, as suggested on a similar thread. Fixed mine!

Thanks. I already did! The point is that this has happened at least six times in the last three months. There's something wrong with the mail.plus.net load-balancer servers, The fault has varied between 212.159.9.81 and 212.159.8.81, depending on the weather, time of day, and what they had for breakfast! This should have been properly fixed.

I spoke to Plus net...they said it was an Office 365 issue... Microsoft support said its a ISP problem...Then I get back to Plus net this morning and they now say that many people are having the same problem so they are looking to see if they have a server problem. Maybe they don't but they are checking....meanwhile live life with NO EMAIL

It's Plusnet's problem!

I don't use Office 365. It's one of the load-balancing servers that precedes the POP server. It's only been happening for weeks!
