Email problems on Android Motorol motog Phone

I have set up the phone exactly as shown on the Plusnet website and it all seems to work its way through and says downloading mail then nothing just hangs there. Has nyone esle experienced this neither the phone shop or plusnet can fix it

Is this when connected to your Plusnet wi-fi, another wi-fi or when connected via mobile data (3G)?
