Email migration to Greenby and impact of moving broadband and Phone to EE

I've just been advised that migrating to Greenby for email impacts my ability to move my broadband and phone to EE. I've been told if I migrate to Greenby then move to EE so I can keep my phone I will lose my email adresses and my email mailboxes would be lost and access to email would be terminated. I'm more than happy to pay Greenby the £17.00 per annum for the service and retain my domain name. I also don't want to lose my phone number. For ease of use and the fact that I'm getting on in years I would prefer to host my telephone with my broadband provider. I've no objection to moving over to VOIP my neighbours already have. We are still on FTTC in our village with a likely transfer to FTTP imminently in an indeterminate timeframe. Does anything I written above ring true?. I can't afford to lose my email it would be too complicated to extricate myself from my email set up and at the same time my landline and its associated number is important to me as mobile connectivity is flaky. I have to use WiFi calling in my home to make it work.

That's not correct. Once your email has transferred to Greenby , it is completely separate from your broadband.
However, you cannot 'request' a migration of your email to Greenby , it will happen when it happens. If you transfer the broadband and phone prior to the email migrating , then you WILL lose the email.

The fact that FTTP will become available soon in your village does not mesn that you will be immediately forced to take up the new service. The transfer to Greenby should be completed well before you are bounced into moving ISP in order to keep your phone service active, which will probably be well before you have no choice but to move to FTTP..

@MisterW many thanks for your reply. That's how understood it too, but I just spoken to PlusNet and they gave me the scenario I described. I did mention that once I'm paying directly to Greenby that Plusnet were no longer involved. I don't need the plusnet domain name i've never used it for years. You've given me a little hope thnaks!

@Baldrick1 that's exactly how I understood it but the advisor at Plusnet told me otherwise. The fact that Plusnet and EE are in bed with each other makes a mockery of the advice I was given.

@Moz now I'm confused ? Are you saying you don't use the <account>.plus.com to send/receive email ?

No, TBH I think its just CSC going 'off piste' again and making up their own answers...

Oh dear, sometimes the front line staff make a total male-fowl-up of things! Let me dissect this for you...
- The migration of your email to Greenby does not in any way impact your options to change ISP subsequent to the migration having happened - migrating before migration would mean that you lose the email service provided by Plusnet
- After migration the mail service is entirely independent of the continuance of the Plusnet broadband service - it will remain free for two years, after which you pay the going rate
- If you are not using *.plus.com as your email address, but instead have a hosted domain such as your-family.co.uk then you do have other options - you can transfer the domain name (email service etc to any provider of your choice) - some of us also use Mythic Beasts
There is a lot of hope here - the migration to Greenby will do the hard work of transferring away from the PlusNet provided services. Remaining with then after two years, if you only every use your personal domain name remains an options for you. Where users have / continue to use you@youraccount.plus.com they are stuck with Greenby indefinitely.
Sadly you cannot believe everything a frontline CSA advises!

Reading this forum (and the above post), I believe I would ONLY keep my .plus.com if my email had been migrated to Greenby (and pay £15pa going forward). I'm not aware that this has happened to my Plusnet account, so am I correct to assume I would lose it if I switched Broadband suppliers to EE/BT now?
I also believe that there is no way to ask to get migrated to Greenby imminently. I have to wait to be notified.
I'd be most grateful if the anyone on here can confirm my assumptions are correct please as I really don't want to lose my .plus.com email address as I've had it for over 25 years.

If you cease to be a Plusnet broadband customer before your email is migrated, you will lose it.
If you move after it has been migrated it remains free for two years.
The various brands are being moved in phases.

@kar999 as I understand it, and this is unofficial becasue I was told I would lose my email account if I moved to EE. I have spoken to both Plusnet and EE.
When the time comes your email, plusnet domain and own domain name, if you have one hosted by Plusnet, will move to Greenby. That has to happen before any broadband provider move otherwise email addresses are lost. Once you are with Greenby you get two years subscription free as long as you keep Plusnet broadband. Whilst in the free two year period with Greenby, If you move from Plusnet broadband to another provider you would have to pay the £15 annual fee plus their fee for hosting your own domain name, can't rember what it was of the top of my head.
I was told, by Plusnet, if I move broadband I would lose my email. However, that doesn't make sense, the email is hosted by Greenby with a link to Plusnet broadband for 2 years and then the client pays. Once with Greenby your are customer of Greenby, not Plusnet. I don't intend to keep my plusnet domain name anyway as I have my own domain name for emails hosted currently by Plusnet.
Like you I want to consolidate all my eggs into one basket with EE as I want to keep my landline principally. I'm pushing 80 now and I really don't want the hassle of having to reorganise very persomalised email set up and trying to set up my phone with yet another provider. I don't take these things in my stride any more.

That long answer is not correct, I refer you to the answer above.
If a user migrates their broadband to ANY other provider before their email and website (if any) are moved the Greenby, it will be lost IMMEDIATELY upon the Plusnet account closing.
If a user migrates their broadband after their services are moved to Greenby, they still remain free for two years. After that the service remains as is at Greenby’s standard rates, regardless of who one has as their ISP.
Any other advice from whatever source is misinformation.

@Townman thanks for your reply. The only difference I see between my "long" reply and yours is that once moved to Greenby you say that their services will remain free for two years whether you subsequently stay with Plusnet broadband or not. I thought the free period was conditonal on being subscribed to Plusnet Broadband.
I'm getting so many differing accounts of what will happen after moving to Greenby I'm not convinced anyone knows for sure what will happen. Plusnet's account to me on the phone was completely different.
