Email is being delivered to multiple addresses

We have recently signed up to plus net and have setup emails for me and my spouse. The thing is when am email is sent to the default email it is being sent to both our email addresses.
As far as I can tell they are separate mailbox accounts and as far as I can tell they are not linked or any redirections etc setup between them.
Anyone know what I may have done wrong here?

you need to set up each email in the form username+mailboxname
if you set it up as username only it will receive all emails to that address

Have you set up an email for you and/or your wife separate from the default
You can do it here https://www.plus.net/my.html?action=myemail&s=1&redirected=yes click on Manage My Mail
Once you have done that you can use the following email address to give out mailboxname@username.plus.com and as I said earlier the email client will need to be setup to download from username+mailboxname

I think it's finally sunk in.
I was looking at the plus net settings not my client settings.
Looks like it's sorted as I was as you put using just the username on my settings.
