The sanitised bounceback response when I send an email from work to my domain (which has always worked in the past) is:

Hmm, the fact that this only just seems to have started happening, does tend to indicate that PN changed something recently.
Any chance of some input from the PlusNet Help Team ? I appreciate that the problem is really with the forwarders but at least it would be useful to confirm what/if something has changed in regards to SPF checking and how we can disable it?
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

An update on my earlier post:
Turning off Spam checking as suggested by some seemed to almost immediately resolve the email forwarding issue (it didn't take the 48 hours suggested). However I immediately started to receive a large number of inappropriate and offensive emails as did the rest of my family. I have turned it back on for now and the forwarding problems are back.
I also have an open ticket with Fasthosts and their latest response was "I understand your concern, however, we no longer have any control on this. The SPF records has already been added but they are unable to verify it. SRS is not supported, I am afraid."
I see there is another thread on PlusNet rejecting some emails and it would appear that Fasthosts are not the only ones with mail forwarders being rejected.
https://community.plus.net/t5/Email/PlusNet-rejecting-some-email/td-p/1365820
Whilst Plusnet may be acting correctly, they have obviously made a change to their policy without notifying their users and this is causing a number of issues. Surely they can give us the option of maintaining Spam checking without implementing SPF

I also forward email via 123-reg, and my wife and I noticed at the weekend that some email was not getting through (amazon receipts, some work email of my wife's). Turning the spam filter off does seem to have fixed this, however:
- It would have been good if plusnet could have warned us before making such a change so we could have turned off the filter and not lost several days worth of mail, or at least let us know that a large number of mails were being bounced by the new check so that we know about it earlier and don't have to come hunting on the forums to find out what is going on.
- Could we not have an option to specifically turn off this new test, but leave the existing filtering as it was?
Overall a bit annoyed by the way this has been handled.

I echo what others have said (ie. we should have been informed of the possible consequences of Plusnet's tweaking and thus be prepared to monitor the situation, and also I would like the option to avoid the additional checks).
I have also turned off spam filtering and my (now very empty) email client's junk mail pre-trash folder is starting to be propagated with its normal detritus as before the changes.

As a home user of email nowadays I rather assumed that email was pretty basic and did what it said on the tin. I have always been impressed with PN's spam filtering but I suppose we have to accept a need to keep up with the spammers.
My domains are all with 123-Reg and there seems to be no problem with mail getting to PN. I have tested from BT/Yahoo and MS Hotmail. Noticeably my wife is not getting her usual messages from all the UK's ladies clothing suppliers!
As a thought, when there is a problem like this don't PN have the ability to mailshot us with a brief note to say what is happening? Maybe it would be filtered as spam!!

I've been having the same problem.
My emails are all forwarded to both PN and a Gmail address. All the Gmail ones arrive, while many of the PN ones are bounced back or just disappear altogether. I switched off all spam protection months ago when mail was being blocked then.
My domains are with UK2 and Falcoda. I don't think it's a problem with them as everything is landing happily in the Gmail account. Falcoda say everything's fine at their end and they forward everything without any filtering.

I have four accounts that have reported this issue. Two of which were being forwarded from 123-reg and the other 2 from Fasthosts. The really critical account was switched to bypass PN last Friday. For the remaining 3 I turned off spam filtering, also last Friday. One of the accounts is reporting that some of their customer messages are still bouncing. However, I am waiting to get bounce message details.

I've found this thread as I've noticed a drying up of emails since at least Saturday. I also suffered from the no Amazon order emails. All my emails run through 123-reg where the domain is registered and a test email to the amazon address got though ok.
I also run a couple of forums and the messages from these are hit and miss. Sometimes I get an email notification and sometimes not.
All a bit frustrating

I can confirm same problem with 123-Reg and Amazon together with some other retailers. Saving money though!!

I now have the bounce message. I will post the full headers my open ticket. Here is the actual error from an email sent to one of the accounts that had the spam filtration turned off last Friday: mx.avasin.plus.net #<mx.avasin.plus.net #5.0.0 smtp; 550 SPF Validation Failed> #SMTP#

The bounce shows the message went through the avasin servers which means spam protection was on at the time, or if turned off the change hadn't propagated to the DNS servers used by the sender.
