Email blocked. Tried to report this via Jess but she's useless

My son works for Tesco Bank (tescobank.com) and starting this week it appears that Plusnet is blocking his email to me. This is the failure message he receives:
Delivery has failed to these recipients or distribution lists:

martin@xxxxxxx.plus.com
The recipient's mailbox is full and can't accept messages now. Microsoft Exchange will not try to redeliver this message for you. Please try resending this message later, or contact the recipient directly.

The following organization rejected your message: mx.avasin.plus.net.

Does this mean that his emails are being trapped by the Plusnet SPAM filter? If so, how can it be fixed? Obviously not by talking to Jess, she's useless when it comes to something like this. Bring back "Raise a Ticket" I say!

Have you considered the possibility that your mailbox is full, like the message says?  That's your Webmail mail box.  Do you use webmail?  If not, now's the time to do it because you need to check the state of your mailbox.

Re: Email blocked. Tried to report this via Jess but she's useless

As far as I was aware Plusnet don't have a hard limit on mailbox content so I wouldn't expect to see a 'mail box full' rejection. Do messages to that address get forwarded elsewhere (where there is a limit/quota)?
Are you able to get hold of a transcript of the headers from a rejected message? (Those would normally be shown after the explanation in the rejection message which your son received.)

Sorry, I should have mentioned that all other incoming mail is fine. Anyway, I am not aware of any limit to email storage. I have often returned from holiday to find 2-300 hundred emails awaiting me. I use an email client which is set to delete all email on the server once it is received.
Thanks for your response.

No, there is no forwarding involved.

Thanks for this, David. I am not sure how the header would help but I will see if I can get hold of it.

Re: Email blocked. Tried to report this via Jess but she's useless

Since messages to your mailbox aren't forwarded elsewhere, despite what the diagnostic message says I suspect the problem is at the sender end. Is the content of your son's sent mail folder above its warning quota?
When your son sends messages is it only those to you which fail with this error?

David, my son only has problems with outgoing mail to Plusnet. He works for Tesco Bank's IT section so I think he is savvy! The "mailboxc full" error comes from Plusnet so he thinks the fault lies with Plusnet.
I have asked him to investigate further.
Thanks again
Martin
P.S. My mailbox is always kept clean when I am online (daily) but I have just used Webmail to check and found it to be empty.

Looks to me like our servers might be rejecting the email but the corporate exchange server is mis-reporting the reason why? It would be interesting to see the headers from one of these emails that's been sent to a non-Plusnet email address (obviously don't post that in public though).

Bob, Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I can now report:
1) The problem has gone away.
2) FYI here is a here's the header to a non-Plusnet address as requested (All usernames have been replaced with ******)

Re: Email blocked. Tried to report this via Jess but she's useless

Can't see anything overly problematic with those headers (although you've left one of the tescobank addresses intact so I'd suggest munging that). It could be that the tescobank domain had a bad reputation at the time the emails were getting rejected.
One thing I'm fairly certain of, is the fact that our servers will not have been returning a mailbox full message as we don't have hard mailbox quotas implemented Huh
