My Grandfather has recently encountered a problem where he has been unable to receive any emails, apart from those from Plusnet please help us out

Some information here (beyond "it does not work") might help us to give you the right advice...
Plusnet emails generally go to the DEFAULT mailbox usually email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are sending to email@example.com then that could be a secondary mailbox which has different connection details - for that the username will be useraccount+dad
