Email account problem

I'm haviung problems accessing my two email accounts. First one is reported as locked, and that is preventing access to the other, then they swap roles. Any suggestions please

Something wrong with Plusnet email system. I'm being asked to sign on to their server, which does not normally happen.

Same here.  What's the problem I wonder?  It says 'Connection to IMAP server failed'.  After a few failed connections I was asked to tick a 'I'm not a robot' thingy.  But that didn't help.  😖

Yep, looks like the PN email servers have thrown a hissy-fit.

I'll try ringing support in a couple of minutes.

I am having problems with the IMAP service but when I look at the plusnet pages it says the problem is fixed.  Hopefully they will get it sorted out soon as the only way you can contact them is via phone, no chat service available.

Email is down here in Poole, Dorset this morning. Just keep getting the message - Login Failed.

It now seems to be working again, fingers crossed it stays that way.

Mine isn't working yet. Mailwasher complains about the password on both (I have tried an alternative password but that didn't work), and Thunderbird complains about the password but just for the account I use the most.

@penneck May not help, but try shutting down both programs and restarting them.

Mine came back online about the same time as everyone else's. I had the password issue with Thunderbird but all is good for now.

My emails seem to be okay now. Fortunately, I found a way for Thunderbird to show me what the passwords are set to on both accounts on both mail.plus.net and relay.plus.net. Just as well, because I found I had forgotten I had changed the passwords on three of the four places a long time ago, so when Mailwasher or Thunderbird asked for those passwords (I don't normally need to use them), I was typing in the wrong answer.

I suppose it is possible to get a reminder from the Plusnet website what your passwords are, but if not, I would have had to reset them there, then gone to Mailwasher and Thunderbird to reset them there also. Trouble was, I wasn't getting the message I was using the wrong password, just that for some reason it wouldn't accept what I thought the password was.

Oh well. You live and learn
