Have you noticed any time of day prevalence for the issues?

It being experienced on networks away from home rather suggests that this is not a connection based issue … which is good to eliminate.

Hi,

Not having problems with other mail servers also kinda narrows the search path

The failures appear to be totally random - not what you need to hear!

However, I can only report those that I notice, so they just might be more regular than I'm seeing them,

I'll try and make note of time and locations for my next update.

An update before I go away for a few days.

Having not noticed problems with Thuderbird in a while, thing have changed as when I have Thunderbird fully open on screen I've seen a number of pop-ups. I've not seen this before when Thunderbird is minimised.

The pop says... "Login in to server imap plus.net failed. Retry - Enter new password - Cancel"

I just "Cancel" and the connection is made.

Note that so far this issue has not presented itself at switch-on of my PC.

I've only seen one notification recently on my mobile - it was at home on 2.11.18 @ 4:18am !
