E-mail timeouts (2011-04-11)

Has anybody else had problems sending and receiving e-mails this morning?
Things seem better now, but PlusNet's servers were not responding, or responding very slowly, earlier.

We weren't doing any maintenance (Monday morning isn't the best time Smiley ) so not sure what happened there I'm afraid, other than this we've not had any reports of problems this morning. We'll keep an eye out though, and please let us know if it happens again.

Thanks. It's happening again now, except it's failing almost straight away, not waiting for a while before failing like before.
Edit: I think it's only affecting POP3.

Seems better again now.
Although you weren't doing any maintenance work, I see from the recent service update that you were testing a new spam filter. Maybe that's what caused the occasional problems.

It's unlikely that it was anything to do with the spam filter work Rob as we actually stopped live traffic passing through the newly installed appliance last week. That was also a change to outbound and not inbound mail.

Whatever was causing the problem earlier seems to have been fixed now.
