E-mail timeouts (2011-01-27)

Is anybody else having intermittent problems accessing POP3 e-mail?

Re: E-mail timeouts (2011-01-27)

I'm having log on issues, prompting me for my user name and password when using Outlook Express.
Account: 'mail.plus.net', Server: 'mail.plus.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Invalid command.', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC91

Re: E-mail timeouts (2011-01-27)

I'm being asked for my password, doesn't matter if I hit "OK" or "cancel".
If I hit "OK" it collects immediately, if I hit "cancel", and then "Send / receive" it collects with no problem.
Weird!  Huh Huh Huh

That's not the case we with me.  It doesn't collect whether I hit OK or cancel.    No problem though accessing my mail via Plusnet's Webmail.

The CSC have seen some reports of similar issues, we're getting it looked at and I'll post back when I have more information.

Thanks. It seems OK now. Let's hope it stays that way.

Re: E-mail timeouts (2011-01-27)

Mine is still faulty but it did allow me to send an email, so I hope it went through OK.  It's showing as 'sent' in my Sent items folder, so i assume it went OK.
Just did another check before I posted and it's still requesting User name and password.

Work has been done to drastically reduce the impact of this issue now so e-mail should now be fine for the majority.

Adam I see you have posted a Service Status Update at 16:58 to say that the problem has been resolved.     Well it's still happening to me at 5.24pm.  Still getting the same message:
Account: 'mail.plus.net', Server: 'mail.plus.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Invalid command.', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC91

Many thanks.  Fortunately I can access my email via Webmail, just not through Outlook Express.
