Re: E-mail service updates

The "address" mentioned in the quoted message is the email address, not Royal mail address.
The UserTools server which provides the service status mailing list does not have access to Plusnet's account database to check/verify any information provided. In fact the email address I signed-up with is an external one that won't appear in Plusnet's database.
Users are asked to confirm their subscription by clicking the link in the sign-up confirmation email to avoid unwanted messages being sent. They can also unsubscribe using the link for that provided in all status messages sent.

Re: E-mail service updates

There is an advantage in not using your Plusnet email address - since it won't be working if there's an outage problem but they could still send to an alternative one you're using elsewhere. Hence notifications to me now I've subscribe will be copied to Yahoo...
