Deleted Redirects still redirecting!

I received a redirected email today although I had deleted the original redirect several days ago.
I would expect this email to have been black-holed.
Am I likely to see many more zombie redirects in the near future?  Cheesy

Re: Deleted Redirects still redirecting!

I've had a look and your mail component hadn't updated correctly. I'm trying to force it manually but it's timing out probably due to the amount of mailboxes/redirects/aliases that are in there.
I've queued up another refresh but if that hasn't worked within the next few hours it may need manual intervention into the database to remove the redirect (so let us know if it's not worked and we'll pick it up Monday).

Re: Deleted Redirects still redirecting!

It's happened again - but with a different redirect...  Cheesy
Actually, I create a new redirect each week for this web site so that I can get a one weeks free trial.
By immediately deleting the redirect, any email never reaches me... Cheesy

Re: Deleted Redirects still redirecting!

It's going to keep happening due to the amount of mailboxes/redirects/aliases. When you are creating/editing it need to 'refresh' the mailbox database with the updated details, however it's taking too long to go through all the instances of these on your account and not completing. It's going to need someone to manually go into the database and sort it out.
When you create the new alias are you removing the old unneeded ones or leaving them in place?

Re: Deleted Redirects still redirecting!

When I create new throw away email addresses like this I rely on getting them through the catchall so I don't have to add aliases or re-directs. Even so I have less than 100 email addresses configured in total and don't see any problems. How many do you have?

Re: Deleted Redirects still redirecting!

I have 7 mailboxes, 6 alias's, and about 8 redirects in total for email.
When I create a redirect, I simultaneously delete a redirect...
So that is a lot less than a 100 addresses.
I don't currently create new alias's - although there was a time when I had several hundred, since deleted.
By deleting and creating re-directs, historically I've probably used about 80 of them.
Perhaps my account is full of deleted records?
The advantage for me in creating/deleting throwaway email accounts is that it is easy to block access to people.

Re: Deleted Redirects still redirecting!

Hmm strange, counting the individual items shows the amount you've shown, but the total shows 110. I think you're right in that the deleted items aren't being removed correctly somewhere along the line.

Re: Deleted Redirects still redirecting!

I've dropped a ticket to our Netops team to take a look, on the ticket you can see the info that our MailDB has for you (which is where it's showing the huge incorrect number of aliases).

Re: Deleted Redirects still redirecting!

Thanks, Chris - I can confirm that all the emails not shown in the 'currently used' section are genuine once active, but now deleted email addresses.
