Confirmation of receipt

Hi,
I sometimes get  an email that requires me to confirm receipt before I can open it, by sending a message to the sender. How can I set up this facility for my own use?
Thanks

Re: Confirmation of receipt

Go to Options, Display Preferences. There you will find Enable Mail Delivery Notification. When that is on you will see boxes to tick to request receipts when you compose messages.

Is this right?  I've never been asked for a read receipt that wasn't optional -- i.e. I could refuse to send one and still open the email. Is there anything in Squirrel that distinguishes between the optional and the mandatory when requesting read receipts?

Re: Confirmation of receipt

Well if I send an email from Webmail with a read receipt request, then I still have the option to ignore it when viewing the message using Thunderbird.

Re: Confirmation of receipt

As far as I'm aware, read receipts are always optional, whatever the mail client. You just hit the Ignore button and you will still be able to see the email.
