Cannot send emails on any device

Hi all,

For some reason i can longer send emails from any device, my phone, my pc etc. i keep getting the "enter your username and password" request (which are the same as before the problem). Bizarrely i can still send from the webmail app though.

 

I have gone through the process of a password change in case that worked but it didn't. Set up as pop3, ports 110 and 587. I have had a fiddle this morning with different ports and servers etc but to no avail.

 

This is a historic freenetname account with a couple of email addresses on and i have the same problem on both. Any help would be much appreciated. I can also see others have had similar issues but with no definite fix other than the account just started working again.

We assume you're receiving OK then?
You need to double check your SMTP settings, and ensure it complies
with PN's server requirements; you can find that by searching on the forum.

Try posting a screenshot of your e mail client's SMTP settings here, with your
e mail address partly obscured ie bit before the "@"

Yes i have no problem receiving. Up until wednesday i have had no issues sending with the current settings.I have noticed that in my outbox on my phone were three old emails that had previously been sent last month, not sure if that helps though.

Everything that I can see looks fine in that screenshot.

 

If you haven't already, could you completely delete the mail account on one device and then set it up from scratch?

 

To confirm, the settings should be as below:

 

Incoming POP server: mail.freenetname.co.uk (Port 110)

Outgoing SMTP server: smtpmail.freenetname.co.uk (Port 25 or 587)

Username: <Your full email address>

Password: <Your full password>

Fix

Hi Dave,

 

Problem solved. I noticed while out earlier that my phone could send emails fine on 4g, when i got home and connected to my wifi the problem returned, this time returning a poor ip reputation message. I have rebooted my router and voila, I am operation again.
