Hello Jonty, I input my password using File/Account Information/Account Settings/Server Settings and it worked. Thanks for your help. Regards.

My emails are now being received, but now I can't send my emails, I just a message on screen saying enter your user name and password. I using outlook to both receive and send emails.

Good morning.

Perhaps use the File / Accounts area of Outlook to re-establish your account details and password?  It seems this has worked for another individual at least.

Thanks for your message, I have tired that on a few times, but I still get the same message on screen saying enter your user name and password, I have changed nothing in my settings including user names and passwords, I have spoken to plusnet before about this, they said it was outlook causing the issue, the strange thing is each time I have spoken with them my email service returns as normal, both sending and receiving. My main email is a totalise account and I have two domain accounts linked that account. I truly believe that either something or someone keeps messing with the settings at plusnet, or something is broken.

I had a problem (emails) a few years back, and they kept telling that everything was fine on there end, after two months and many messages a guy I spoke said the admin team have changed your password, no one had told me. Anyway my issues with email is continue in. Hope that someone can help.

I have just rechecked my email and none are able to send emails, all are still receiving emails. I know that all my settings are correct, that said I have gone through all emails account to check that the details are in fact correct. I have also restarted outlook in safe mode, again I'm able to receive but not send. I really don't think it's an issue on my end.

Hello, yes I have sent and received. When I had the problem with Outlook I signed in to webmail to make sure my password was still OK.

Hi All,

Incoming mail sever: mail.plus.net port 995

Outgoing mail server: smtp.plus.net port 25

My outgoing mail server requires authorization

Use the same details for incoming mail

I have made no changes to above settings, but for sometime I still am not able to send emails, I can receive emails, this happens when using outlook and also when using both my iPhone and iPad.

I have had this problem in the past, and I have been told to change my settings, my password, but still the problem continued, I don’t believe that there is a problem my settings and then after sometime and a number of phone calls to PlusNet my I could once again send emails, with no changes. I do wonder why that should be.

Good morning.

I do find the server settings a smidge confusing.  I've never had issues receiving but sending slightly different.  On my Android phone I use port 587 (native Samsung email app).  My Outlook on a PC wasn't that but I recently suffered a hardware failure so had to rebuild.  So Outlook does now use the same port 587 but throws up a certificate error each time Outlook is run.  I just 'OK' the error and Outlook sends.

I had tried whatever other servers Plusnet suggested but Outlook just would not send even though my phone would.  At least I do have it working bar an error/prompt.

That should be relay.plus.net port 587.

Whilst smtp.plus.net and relay.plus.net point to the same servers, the certificate is issued for relay.plus.net, which explains the certificate error

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Hi All, well, I've just spoken with PlusNet again, they went through their normal script, change this setting, add this port, do this do that, are you able to use the web service if so it's not our problem, it's a problem with your email client, contact your email client. I said I have done all of this in the past and it just doesn't work, I said it's best I leave all my settings as they are and you contact the team who service the area for Madasafish/Totalise customers, Ok I will do that, within a few minutes I could both send and receive emails. As explained earlier this has now fixed my problem of sending emails, but I do wonder how long it will be before it's not working again.
