Bounceback email from fireflyuk.net

I'm trying to email a friend on a fireflyuk.net email address and I am getting bounce-backs with the following error code

Server error: '452 4.1.1 ... temporary failure'

He has looked and there is nothing on his server-side delivery log so it is not getting as far as firefly.

Is there anything I can do or does anyone know where the problem is?

Error 452 can indicate a full mailbox.

If that is the case there's not a lot you can do until your friend frees up some space to accept incoming email.

Thanks for the suggestion but I know for sure it is not that as they are receiving emails from other people and they have plenty of mailbox space.

Almost certainly a DNS error...  without the NDR, it's hard to tell

I obviously don't know the actual address you're trying to send to, but I can send email directly to postmaster@fireflyuk.net and it's accepted:

That suggests there's nothing wrong with the receiving server, assuming the problem isn't intermittent.

Like @Browni says, could be an issue specific to the particular mailbox you're trying to send to.

Or a communication problem between our email servers and fireflyuk.net's.

Thanks for checking. The issue seems to have cleared now. I managed to send an email mid week. It definately would not work all weekend.
