Being moved to greenby what happens to multiple addresses?

Hi

Very disappointed about this but whatever.

I have five regular aliases used as separate addresses for family and forums etc.

Example: somebody@hereweare.plus.com, somebodyelse@hereweare.plus.com, Youandme@hereweare.plus.com

what happens to these when we are moved over please?

Mike

As it is the account (@hereweare.plus.com) that moves, all mailboxes associated with it will move.

Fix

@insussex the understanding is that additional mailboxes and aliases will be retained when an account is migrated to Greenby

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Oh that's good news.

The one reason I have stayed with PN all these years is the fear of having to change so many log ins and service emails

@insussex

Hi Mike,

What was it in the communication which caused you to think it was just the notified email ADDRESS which was being moved, rather than the whole email ACCOUNT ... which might have many mailboxes, aliases and redirection email ADDRESSES?

You ae not the first to draw the wrong conclusion and I fear that you will not be the last.  Understanding why folks reach the wrong conclusion might enable adjustments to the wording which will allay such fears in others.

Hi

I guess it was just not specific enough.

If it had read "The whole of your mailbox including alias etc will be preserved and moved then there would be less fear.

The bigger picture is that even when Plusnet was not that competitive I stayed with them because of the awful tangle changing email addresses would cause. This seems like a big own goal

@insussex

Well, the good news is that once you've migrated you're not tied to PN internet.

It will cost £15 a year for your email but it could be worse - Manx Telecom are going to charge £65 per year!!!

Its still a very bad stunt for a major ISP to dump its webmail services into a paid provider, even with 2 years free.

@Tench

What would you prefer - PN to close it's email service?

At least it's only £15 (for now). Apparently Manx Telecom are going to charge £65pa.
