Android mail - cannot send email messages

Using android mail on Samsung Galaxy s4 with my plusnet mailboxes.  Mail client can read mail but when I try to send, I get the message 'cannot send email' (but no reason as to why not).  Connecting to webmail seems to take forever.

Is this related to the current service status message?

It could be associated with the network problems. Best thing is probably to leave settings as they are and try again later.

I have the same problem using a Samsung Galaxy J5 it started two weeks ago and has not gone away. The phone receives e-mails but will not send.  Has any one got a fix

Are your questions related to sending mail on a PN server or when out and about?

Started working again in the afternoon. Guess it was the network issues.
