All emails removed from server

for some reason al my emails have gone. I have no idea why. all of my devices are set up as IMAP and they could see everything fine this morning. The only device set up as pop3 is my desktop and that is set to leave a copy on the server. I tested outlook on the desktop in conjunction with webmail and can see it is still leaving a copy on the server.
I am a little concerned about what has happened and have changed my p/w and thought I would post here in case anyone has any ideas or there is a problem at PN's end?

I have found the problem although no cure as yet. MS in their wisdom have broken Outlook 2016!
