Accessing hotmail emails SORTED

A bit of history
Our Publicity Officer has resigned and I need to collect emails to the dedicated address
The only information I have is
email something@hotmail.co.uk and the password
Can I access it or set it up in Outlook 2003 - absolutely not
So the question is
Am I missing a needed piece of information or am I just not doing it right

I would have thought that should be possible with just the Email and password.
There is a bit of support on MS, but as support for 2003 products has ended, may be a little sparse.
