A second user

I would like some help with my email problem, please.
Until a few days ago, we just had the desktop computer. Never had a second one before.
The email account is the standard
<me>@<my user name>.force9.co.uk
My wife very rarely sent emails, but when she did, I sent them for her using the sender
address
<my wife>@<my user name>.force9.co.uk
Incoming mails for her were amongst mine, so I filtered them into a separate inbox
for her.
She now has her own laptop computer with which she is trying to get to grips, and I
want her to be self-contained. I have installed Thunderbird on it, as that is what I
have on mine. During installation, I set it up with the same account as I had given
her when she used mine. i.e.
<my wife>@my user name>.force9.co.uk
I was hoping that only her emails would be downloaded, but unfortunately she also
gets mine and any 'spam'.
Please, how do I set her laptop up to only receive emails addressed to her? I want
to keep things as simple as possible for her.
If I have to use a different username and password for her, will this be classed as
a new 'customer' and we will we be charged two payments a month? I do not want that
to happen!
Many thanks.
Keith.

Re: A second user

You need to set up a new email account under Manage My Mail on the Plusnet portal (I assume it is the same for force9 customers https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=myemail&s=1&redirected=yes&?membermenu=emailsettings
And there is no charge
Her login in Thunderbird will be username+mywife and yours will be username+me
Have a read here http://www.plus.net/support/email/index.shtml

Re: A second user

Hello Oldjim.
Thank you very much for your help.
Just before I sort the laptop tonight, please can I ask just one question to completely clarify things for me?
I think that  I need to select
'Deliver to new mailbox with its own login and password'
rather than either of the other two choices.
Is this correct?
My very old brain is rather sluggish these days. Sad
Many thanks.

Re: A second user

That is correct although you actually don't need to change the default password if you don't want to
