Re: Phase 2 of Easy Setup tests

I tried the phase 2 tests earlier and had no success at all  Sad
Attempt 1 failed after 15 minutes after auto disconnected and then came with authentication failures
Attempt 2 I checked after 7 minutes to see if I was connected with my username and password, but was still connected to the getstarted username.  Opened browser and was prompted for a username and password and was able to surf and collect emails.
Checked again after 15 minutes, and 30 minutes later and it was still not connected to my username and password so left it and after 58 minutes it still was connected using the getstarted log in at which point I gave up.
Only thing is I am using a router configured by the ini file and version 8 firmware as I can't get the supplied firmware to work with my router as it fails at every attempt to upgrade whilst I can flash the normal v8 and normal v7 firmwares to my router (and another 1 I have that I tried it on as well!)

Which page was that? Was it the internal config page of the router.. or our 'walled-garden'?
Anyone else having trouble with the 'new' getstarted@ instructions?

Re: Phase 2 of Easy Setup tests

The getstartedtrial@ username will work now, we're stopping the TR69@ username from working from this afternoon.

Re: Phase 2 of Easy Setup tests

Sad  I'm having the same trouble ~ I changed the connection username to "getstartedtrial" etc., then went back later & checked for the changeover but found it was still "getstartedtrial".  I'm having PC problems at the moment, so once I've got that sorted out  I'm going to start from the beginning of the new phase...

I presume it would have been the walled garden as it wasn't from the thomson router.

Re: Phase 2 of Easy Setup tests

getstartedtrial not working for me too.
After power up the router connected (presumably using tr069) and had already switched to my own username by the time I started my browser. I used the set-up wizard to change broadband username to the getstartedtrial one. The router re-synced and the connection authenticated OK; for the next 20 minutes the internet light was flashing green (transferring data) then the log shows Configuration save by TR69 (twice a few seconds apart). However after 1hr 15mins I am still connected as getstartedtrial.
I can pick up email and browse the Internet.
David
Edit: The amended SSID and WPA key has been retained. I did the whole process using WIFI on my laptop. Just had the expected loss of wireless connection when the new security settings took effect. Easiiy detected and connected to the revised one.

Re: Phase 2 of Easy Setup tests

I've started the process - and got to stage 10 on Matts email / ticket.
The usernet did NOT change to my own -
the walled garden - Broadband setup page appeared, asking for username and password.
I entered these and after about 6 more minutes I got the big green tick - All done
Now connected ok - and I'll leave it for an hour as requested -
[edit 13:35]
OK left it the hour plus -
powered down, and powered up again and username and password keep ok
I did stage 14 and changed password - and this worked fine - the system changed the router password which could reconnect.
stage 16 wireless settings still as I set them.
so partially successful overall.

Has the username now changed to your correct one?
[quote=spraxyt]However after 1hr 15mins I am still connected as getstartedtrial.
I can pick up email and browse the Internet.
We believe this is due to the way ellacoya profiles are assigned to IP addresses and the timing of the ACS transferring data. A fix is being worked on for it.
Anyone using the getstartedtrial@plusdsl.net username and password will need to browse to the router config pages (192.168.1.254) and manually press connect as this is not the username set by the firmware and therefore doesn't autoconnect. Once we go live this won't be necessary. I'll append the trial tickets this PM to make sure this is clear.

Re: Phase 2 of Easy Setup tests

When I changed to getstartedtrial I used the setup wizard and connection occurred automatically.
However, further to Reply #9 the switch to my proper username was initiated when I browsed to a new wesite almost 2 hours after initial connection to getstartedtrial. I entered my account details and got Finishing setup page. After about 5 minutes here, Internet Explorer 8 (on XP) showed a "cannot display the webpage" message. Refreshed page and got green tick "done".
The broadband router page showed my proper broadband username with password field populated.
Internet light flashing green (data transfer) and (revised) configuration save by TR69 after 25 minutes.
Router log follows:

No - I had to do it manually on the "Walled Garden" page

Re: Phase 2 of Easy Setup tests

Did this then propagate from the walled garden back to your router? As this is how it should work.
