Password change fail

I've now tried several times to change the Password between 22:40 and 22:52, but the member center keeps reporting the TR69 device as Offline
Quote
Warning!!
The TR069 device is offline. We can update the password now. But you will have to manually update the router. Do you want to contine?

Once you change your password, manually update your router with your new password.
Not sure how? Read about [updating passwords]

From the other thread

Are you still on 2M fixed Maurice? Presumably that has 288kbps upstream sync so I wonder if it will take much longer than for me (448kbps sync) to transfer the configuration?

Is that what's slowing things down?

Re: Password change fail

Yup Still on 2M048 fixed.  The router had another Config saved at 23:37 (Real time not Router time!!!) so two hours after start.  Just tried another Password change at 00:06 Undecided
Took ages to log into the Portal each time - 3 / 4 minutes.  I may have to take the new unit out of service to allow SWMBO's laptop to work whilst I go to earn a crust again tomorrow.

Re: Password change fail

If you try to connect wirelessly to the new router I suggest you check the WPA key. Mine was different from the one on the label. Laptop connected OK via wireless when I sorted that out.

Re: Password change fail

I have came across some laptops that are quite fussy about connecting to the thomson router with the default settings.

Re: Password change fail

I think the config file we uploaded had a WEP key specified in it - that's my bad.
Having said that, we configured your routers with an ini file rather than the firmware that we've had recently (which connects to the ACS out of the box, and means you can factory reset without then needing to change any settings) so I'll add that to a thread at the top of this forum which I will then request is stickied.
Hopefully that'll help with these issues.

Re: Password change fail

Still unable to change the password!  Member centre still reporting TR 69 Device off-line though the Thomson log suggests that it is synching regularly?

BTW Guys, Portal access performance is diabolical!  It takes about 5 minutes to get through Login to the Password change page.  This really does need some serious attention.

EDIT:  Note the router log is 1Hour early because of the known Summer Time bug.

Re: Password change fail

Hi Maurice,
Is the router online now? I've just had a look at the server API and can't see it online there. There aren't any pending tasks as far as I can see, so any password change should be fine.
Have you factory reset the router at all? If so it may well have incorrect settings for the ACS server in there.

Re: Password change fail

I left it on-line when I left for work, so I presume that it still is?  No Factory reset or other changes applied since it was powered on last night .
The router log shows synchronisation events about evry hour as shown below.
I'll be at home around 16:00 for a couple of hours, then away for the weekend.

Re: Password change fail

Is anything happening on this failure?  Do you need any more information?
I'm away from around 19:30 this evening until late on Sunday - do you want me to leave the router on?

Re: Password change fail

Hello Maurice
I am one of the developers working on this project and we are currently investigating this issue, as this seems to be affecting everyone.
I think you will have left by the time you get this message, but if you do get it, then please leave your router connected over the weekend.

Re: Password change fail

Thanks Ben,
I took the decision that it just might be useful to leave it on Cheesy  Nobody else at home likely to use it over the weekend, so do what you need to do with it.  If you break it and I have to revert to the old router try and leave a note here for me, or on my email.
I may be away from base, but my Norfolk location also has Plusnet BB Smiley

Re: Password change fail

Thanks Maurice
Glad you took the chance and decided to leave it on. We won't be making any changes to your device, and it looks like we now have a solution to the issue. This is currently making its way around the delivery team for sign-off and will hopefully be developed on Monday.

Re: Password change fail

Is anything happening on this issue?    I'm now under domestic pressure to re-instate the old Router to allow the Wireless devices - SWBO's laptop  top of the list - to be connected.
I'm reluctant to go round all the devices 4 off changing the WPA2 passwords if I then have to go back and reset them again for the old router.
Communication is key during a trial Wink

Re: Password change fail

Hi Maurice,
Sorry about the lack of updates. The router's still not showing online in the ACS even though you've a 5 day ongoing connection so I'll see what Ben can come up with. I'll update as soon as I know anything further.
