windows backup

Why is it that the windows backup utility will not work with a cdRW? Is there any way round this?

The built in windows back up is very poor and its ability not to burn direct to DVD - CD has been a bugbear for many people for a long time

If you want to carry on using windows back up the only way around this is to burn the back up you`ve made to CD which is not ideal i know but usable

I would forget the built in MS back up and go for something like ghost or the one i use and my favourite acronis trueimage which will take a snapshot of your whole or part partition which can be burnt directly to DVD or CD or saved to another drive

I use Acronis Trueimage also and can highly recommend it.
I always create the backups from a bootable Acronis CD - only niggle is that the drive letters never match what Windows think they are.
