solaris 10

im currently running win xp
and now im planning to install solaris 10
what would be the best way to install it without effecting windows
i have a spare parition
and i would like the option of having to select between the two

Use a separate hard with caddies, or check out the sun documentation on dual booting within Windows.

Also have you checked the hardware compatibility lists, as Solaris 10 is very picky about the hardware that you install it on.

I have installed Solaris 9 on x86 in the past, and had to but a couple of network cards off ebay before I could get one that work.

Currently I have a Sun Ultra5, if you have the cash I would recommend looking on ebay for an Ultra5 with keyboard and mouse.
