i'd like to resize my c drive(active drive, operating system drive , windows xp)
is there any way i can increase the size without losing any data and safely, i have plenty of gigabytes of hard drive space, i made a mistake by only assigning 5GB to the c drive and know i have a few problems here and there,
any suggestions are most welcome
thanx

One way is to use a drive imaging utility like True Image which allows you to restore an image back of a different partition size. Alternatively, something like Partition Magic?

Whatever you do, i suggest that you use a drive image utility to make a back up to another drive first.

Good luck, Mike

Either Partition Magic or Bootit NG will do what you want.

You can also use ntfsresize : http://linux-ntfs.sourceforge.net/man/ntfsresize.html
It is found in any Linux distrib but you don't need Linux to use it. I resized a Windows XP partition with it. I made it smaller, but it can also expand a partition. Good news : it is free, unlike Partition Magic (http://www.symantec.com/home_homeoffice/products/system_performance/pm80/index.html), or Partition Manager (http://www.7tools.com/pm/index.htm). However Partition Logic is also free, but I have not used it.

Do a backup of the most important files first.
