got a bt voyager 105 need a better modem anyone know witch is best a do not want to go usb any more
i have only 1 computer would a router be any good i have £50.00 to speed
the 105 modem will be no good for the 8mb soon Huh

I think the 105 is fine for 8mb but a router would give much better line stats which may increase your speed.

I'd suggest you get one of these:

A little over your budget but its wireless and capable of ADSL2 for the future. I use the same one and its a dream to use, easy installation etc and firmware upgrades are pretty simple too.

If you buy a Netgear get the DG834UK it is a much better router.

The DG632 had a lot of problems and software updates to get it reliable and also does not give line stats.

I have been following a similar track for a friend who is going broadband and my present favourite is the Speedtouch 516 or 536 which are based on a broadcom 6348 which is apparently one of the better chipsets.
