forwaring port 80 to 443 in IIS

Hi Guys,

I've got something I need to do with IIS. A customer of ours in work now has an SSL certificate and wants all thier customers to connect via SSL on port 443 rather than port 80. They don't want to bother talking through all thier people on how to change the port in thier favourites and shortcuts.

Does anyone know a way in IIS to forward incoming requests from port 80 to 443?

Cheers,
Chris

Isn't a forwarding page an easier approach until they have updated their shortcuts?

It will also mean they can put up some stuff about why and what not, happy cuddly security talk makes people feel warm n fuzzy Smiley

That won't work I dont think. The data is stored in a directory. Say server/page.asp for example. A forwarding page could forward a url such as server/page.asp to server/page2.asp and could also forward the port, but what I need to do is forward http://server/page.asp to https://server.page.asp (in otherwords same page, different protocol.

It should work its the same as how people who run Outlook Web Access automatically forward to the secure site when they add a certificate.
