dumprep.exe

Hi

Since installing WMP11 (Beta) I have often found that it can crash and then take a long time to close and the entire system is very very slow to respond to the keyboard or mouse.

Maybe it is pure coincidence that this started happening after I installed WMP11 but when I look at the Task Manager Processes it shows 100% CPU usage.

Sometimes there is one occasionally two or three dumprep.exe running each with a usage of 99. If I remove each of these the system returns to around 4/5% usage and WMP11 closes.

I am running an original copy of XP SP2 with all updates (automatic).

It's mopre of a nuisance than anything else but can anyone tell me waht does dumprep.exe actually do?

Cheers.

Funny you should mention that.
I've noticed it recently and had to shut the process down very slowly.
Anyway, after seeing your post, I googled it and if you click here, it explains what it is and tells you how to disable the thing.
