Hi

My sister has Win XP Home Edition........ what does she need to type at "Start/Run" to find her IP address for the current internet connection? I thought it was "ipconfig" as I am sure that is what I used when I had Win 98SE,but tried that on my wifes laptop (also Win XP) but it does'nt seem to work.Or is there an easier way for her to find it.

Thanks

Hi Ian,

The command still is ipconfig but with XP type it at a command prompt and not at start/run. From start/run the prompt box does not stay open so you may not see it at all..

Hope this helps

Thanks Roland I did see the box open and close for a fraction of a second :-).But never having used Win XP may I impose on you a little more and ask where in XP one enters a command prompt?

Thanks for your patience
