Windows XP - This device can perform faster.... message

Hi,

I have only have USB 1.1 ports on my pc (don't laugh).

Whenever I plug various USB devices in I always get the message "This device can perform faster if I plugged it into a USB 2 port" etc.

This has always bothered me a little bit with flash drives etc and I could never be bothered in looking at how to get rid of it. However, I've just got a new printer, everytime I turn it on, it says this.

I've now looked into getting rid of it but can't see how to.

Does anyone know of a way to get rid of this message, i.e. stop it appearing. I know what it means, so don't require any clarification there.

Cheers,

Eddy

Cheers for that, does the trick.

I was expecting there to be a registry key to change to get rid of that particular error message, but getting rid of all USB errors is fine for me.

I still don't get why the fact my device can perform faster is an error though! Guess that's just M$ for you!

its not reallly an error, its just MS telling you that its not working at optimum speeds. Just incase you have USB1 and USB2 on ur PC or sommit.
