Vista a new mistake by MS on Activation

It now appears that you can put off activating Vista for ever by running a simple command and changing a reg key. Its not a hack or crack but a tool supplied by MS which is built into Vista. This means you can by a pc with Vista thinking it genuine and then find out its not as the seller has run this fix to stop it activating.

You can find out how to do it on MS website but its a bit hard to find

... or just Google it. So lets see. It is possible to do a clean install on an upgrade copy, and purchase a student copy of Home Premium upgarde, cost about £60 . Still needs to be tested but now you may not have activate it, or the article suggests for quite a time. It does seem that some versions may now have the appropriate command removed.
It is increasingly looking that the only effect of Microsoft using such agressive anti piracy measures is to anoy legitimate users. Those that want to get round things have had life made very easy, thanks to Microsoft themselves.

Vista a new mistake by MS on Activation

I think MS wants more people to jump on board, service packs will correct those who hooked on Vista using the exploit, by that time most will probably buy it.

MS has said before when Romania/China was found to have xp selling for a dollar. We would rather have them pirating software than using the competitors.

So they keep install base, make software companies stick to their OS as main format due to install base and users become potential customers.
