Trying to identify spare for hard drive -- help please

I have an old laptop which I'm Linuxing, replacing the original HDD with a larger one.
It's a Packard Bell EasyNote VX. The original HDD was a 6GB 2.5" Hitachi IDE, which has the normal array of connector pins onto which is pushed what seems to be a ZIF adapter, then whole unit slots into a connector in the drive bay.
It's an additional "push-on" adapter that I'm after as I am keeping the old 6GB with it's original OS and apps on and may want to use it again. Pulling the adaptor on and off more than a couple of times, I'm sure to get clumsy and damage one or both drives.
I've googled to no avail and tried emailing Hitachi and Packard Bell (NEC) and Romtronics, and tried the PB forums too, but no-one seems able to offer help.
I'm sure if I can find out a better description and spec I can find one at Maplin or somewhere ...
Anyone know what these things are called? Or any other suggestions?
thanks

Sorry, your out of luck. I did find a couple of laptop drives from the last clear out of we had at work, but neither have adaptors on them.

But I will have a look next time that I am in the store/junk room.

Long shot but you could try http://www.partmaster.co.uk

apparently this 6cm piece of plastic is available, but it will cost £27 from Romtronics (and, bless them, that is comparatively cheap -- US websites are quoting about $80 plus shipping!)
Which is more than the drive is worth ... still they're clearly good at finding obscure bits so worth remembering them if you're a hardware fiddler.
