Setting up a Server

Hi,

I am currently trying to run a Red Hat 8.3 Linux Server with Apache over my ADSL (fixed IP) connection. It runs throught my ADSL router/ modem with built in Firewall. The firewall is open on port 80 (for http). Locally I can view it on my LAN (192.168.0.5), Also locally on the fixed IP (81.174.xxx.xxx). However externally on SOME machines I cannot view it!!

Any ideas why this is happening?? Also shouldnt [username.plus.net] point to the server?Huh

Setting up a Server

username.plus.com not .plus.net

Setting up a Server

Cheers

Problem solved. Rather simple really. Though not obvious!
The reason I was unable to see the ip address or username.plus.com was due to the time out on my adsl router/firewall connection. The times I had obviously managed to access the site, someone was on the internet (and so connecting the network, and thus the server). Other times, it had disconnected itself and so couldnt be pinged etc.

All makes sense now!!

Thanks
