Recommend a Router...

I need a new router (my current one crashes when I change settings... and looses all settings when it crashes) but I have a few requirements:

  • Must have wired and wireless connections
  • Must work with Multicasting
  • Must enable me to say "All traffic for $second_ip should be sent to $pc" but the rest of the traffic goes through NAT.

Anyone got any recomendations?

Colin,

Im not 100% certain on your last requirement matey, but the D-Link G604T definately supports all up till that point.
And at around £45 from ebay, your sure to be in for a winner lol.

I have an IP block and my current (broken, possibly) Belkin enables me to say that I want all traffic on 212.159.90.x to go to 192.168.7.3 and all traffic on 212.159.90.y to go to 192.168.7.4

Pitty the DG834 doesn't support multicasting otherwise it would do fine...

For those wondering about Colin's last point any router which offers the ability to configure a DMZ would do the job (most routers list it as such in their specs, so don't worry about the exact meaning Smiley )
