Quick noob question for the tech guys

I have just replaced my Plusnet supplied Voyager 105 with a Netgear DG834. I'd just like to know if it's ok to keep the router plugged in and switched on 24/7 as normally i switch it off at the mains at night. If so how often would a router reboot be needed (on average).

Quick noob question for the tech guys

I use the linksys wag54g which i leave switched on 24/7 usually, the only reason
i have been rebooting it recently is to see if the line upgrade has been done

i think its down to personal preference whether you turn it off or leave it on
if you feel happier switching it off at night do so

Think about it there are computers and routers on 24 7 in many organisations. I'd leave it on but up to you! Cheesy

Quick noob question for the tech guys

I had that Router (before I upgraded the same model with Wireless) and It doesnt have a problem (althought I would recommend Flashing it to the latest Firmware, I found it makes a quite a difference, but this is by no means essential).

I am an avid fan of Netgear "Stuff" and have had very few problems with the kit...its mean to last!

so....go for it!
