Port Forwading - anyone help please...?

I am having a problem Port Forwarding on my Router. This is enable me to use p2p software (µTorrent) effectively.

My Router is a MentorWireless-G.

The Ports were forwarding correctly for ages - when I ran the following check: http://tinyurl.com/y8hptg
it reported that the port was forwarded correctly and accepting incoming connections - like this: http://tinyurl.com/yehplz

Then all of a sudden it has stopped working.

I have followed the instructions to set up a static IP address from here: http://tinyurl.com/5uq3w

this means I have the following set up in the properties of my Internet Protocol (TCP/IP): http://tinyurl.com/yn58o3

Then, I have tried to follow the specific instructions from the Mentor section at: http://tinyurl.com/j6kzd - but none of them relates exactly to my router. So using my limited understanding (the documentation for the Router is poor) I have connected to my router, and mapped the port as follows: http://tinyurl.com/ymuwxb

Then all of a sudden it wont work. I have tried several ports - Sometimes I can get a Port open - very briefly -, but it wont last - then when I check via http://tinyurl.com/y8hptg it says the port is not accepting connections - like this: http://tinyurl.com/yehplz

Other things I tried.

- Tried ports in the 50000 + range
- Switching off my firewall
- Switching off my virus guard.
- I have tried setting up in the properties of my Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to be 'Obtain an IP address automatically.

Questions

Am I missing something ?
why did it work for ages then suddenly it wont ?
what is causing the port to stop accepting connections ?
can someone tell me what this php script testport.php is doing ? (checking the port is open is the obvious answer)

Any ideas appreciated.

OK.

In which case, set the port for Utorrent to what have you (50000 or whatever) and then forward that specific port from the router to your IP address.
