Hi. I dont think OE has a spellchecker of its own as such but appears in OE when you Install Microsoft Word either as part of Ms Office or MS Works.

If you have it installed you could try a repair by following the instructions here: http://www.theeldergeek.com/oe_spellcheck.htm

Hope this helps.

You could try a stand alone spell checker for OE.
You can download one from here: http://www.geocities.com/vampirefo/

If you install Microsoft Word, then OE automatically picks up the spellchecker dictionary from there.

And check in OE under Tools Options Spelling that you've ticked the box telling it to check the spelling.

Try uninstalling Word and putting it in again. It shouldn't need any action from you to make it work.

There is another problem.
If you have Outlook Express running under Windows XP and an earlier version of word (97 for example) then a dll can be missing.
If this is the case find a copy of the file csapi3t1.dll and place it in the folder "Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Proof".
